Operation Kids Names Sara Brueck Nichols Director of PR

Nichols to work to increase visibility and awareness of charity’s brand


SALT LAKE CITY, July 18, 2008 – Operation Kids announced today that Sara Brueck Nichols has joined the global children’s charity as director of public relations.

“Sara has been instrumental in helping build a brand awareness and communications strategies at other firms, and we are excited to have her join our team,” said Rick Larsen, president of Operation Kids.

Nichols will be responsible for developing a branding, message and communications strategy for the charity. She comes to Operation Kids with nearly a decade of experience in strategic marketing and public relations development. She will be responsible for helping develop a strategic communications plan to increase online and offline awareness of the Operation Kids brand and fundraising efforts.

Prior to joining Operation Kids, Nichols worked as VP of marketing for Cobalt Communications Group, a Salt Lake City-based social media marketing firm, where she developed social media marketing strategies and managed client accounts, seeing 450% growth during her tenure.

Nichols is a 2006 recipient of the Metropolitan Marketing & Advertising Excellence (MAME) award for Marketing Director of the Year, Mid-Atlantic Region, for her brand development and marketing communications work with McLean, Virginia-based Kettler, Inc., one of the nation’s largest real estate development and property management companies.

Nichols holds a degree in public relations from Brigham Young University.
